This reminds me of a scene from "The Wizard of Oz" where the scarecrow approaches the wizard and the wizard screams out, "COME FORWARD" as so he comes, all wobbly legs and all to make his request.
Then the wizard asks them to do all sorts of suicidal stunts in order to get their wishes granted (like killing a wicked witch). Well, in the end, all was granted.
Then again, it also reminds me of another story....with Purim being around the corner...Esther having to ask the king a question...
In this story queen Esther had to come before the king --the story leaves things vague sometimes when they talk about the king--is it the human king Xerxes? or the King of Kings Himself? Anyway, she fasts and her people fasts for three whole days before she makes her daring move....
in the end, her wishes were granted!
