Haiti is in Trouble.

Please pray for Haiti.  NGO's are salivating and opening up their tables and setting up shop.  I can't stop white folks, they will probably give to these NGOs because they know they are making other white people rich.

But I hope I can influence you, Black-America, Africans, others to truly help Haiti.

Passover in S. Sudan

I like that he's telling them that he and the Jewish people were slaves once. Like this they will understand that its not them alone.

Slightly irrelevant, someone gave me an interesting idea: donating organic seeds to farmers in Haiti.  Since I'm pretty close to an organic farm, this seems like a doable thing.  Its definitely important since Haiti is one of the countries on the front line battling Monsato.  I wish I had a contact in South Sudan, I'd like to send some there too.  First I have to get the prices of this. Hope its not too expensive...

Is it Good for Haiti? Gold and Oil

.
Turns out I should have wondered why there were so many UN officials in Haiti at the time of the earthquake. As it turns out much Haiti since 1994 has become basically a fort for the UN. I don't know how long they've known this, but gold and oil have been discovered in Haiti. In fact, the oil reserve seems greater than Venezuela's-- so much larger its not even worth comparing! Ah. No wonder all the aids are not reaching the people. Story.

Nations want the Haitian people dead. And gone. (or just amputated at best).

Praise God, the country to took the title of the "poorest country in....wherever" is not really. Hmmm..sorry the stigma didn't stick. Not.

I must make a special trip to the Wailing Wall on this one. Surely in the merit that Haiti was among the first countries to recognize Israel, as they say those who bless it shall be blessed, hopefully they will be blessed in return.

For a more comprehensive outline see Israel Truth Times blog.

To Haitians: Prie' po pays ou. Bon Dieu ap tande'!!

Haiti

And to add insult to injury....

"We had permission from the Dominican Republic government to bring the children [from Haiti] to an orphanage that we have there[in America]."

So country x gives someone from country y permission to do whatever they want in country z??!!! Good grief.

Another Earthquake Hits Haiti

By PAUL HAVEN and MICHELLE FAUL, Associated Press Writers Paul Haven And Michelle Faul, Associated Press Writers – 7 mins ago

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – A powerful new earthquake struck Haiti on Wednesday, shaking rubble from damaged buildings and sending screaming people running into the streets only eight days after the country's capital was devastated by an apocalyptic quake.

The magnitude-6.1 temblor was the largest aftershock yet to the Jan. 12 quake. The extent of additional damage or injuries was not immediately clear.

Wails of terror rose from frightened survivors as the earth shuddered at 6:03 a.m. U.S. soldiers and tent city refugees alike raced for open ground, and clouds of dust rose in the capital. ...more at yahoo news.

Last Post on Haiti

.
While meandering through my bookmarked websites, I saw this at BF IR Marriage EZine.

Yes, I know its suppose to be an IR love story, but the chilling statement that the doctor said in the last few seconds of the video frightened me! Are unnecessary amputations being done because there is a shortage of equipment?

Quotable Quotes

“He felt the Haitian people were filled with joy, exuberance and warmth, and potential to match any country on earth,”

Twin of Andrew Grene who died in Haiti.

Because It Won't Get Reported...

.
(or get reported in an underhanded way such as this:)

More good news..

Even more at Jewish Odysseus blog.

Oy! One day......one day......

sometimes I lay
under the moon
and thank God I'm breathing
then I pray
don't take me soon
cause I am here for a reason
sometimes in my tears I drown
but I never let it get me down
so when negativity surrounds
I know some day it'll all turn around
because
all my life I've been waiting for
I've been praying for
for the people to say
that we don't wanna fight no more
they'll be no more wars
and our children will play
one day ......

Organizations helping Haiti

.
If you want to help, there are a list of organizations accepting donations for helping Haiti. The number dead is staggering. Its hard to post --much less think about it.

(It makes me enraged to hear the things Pat Roberson and Rush Limbaugh have said in regards to Haiti. Crazy!)

thank you Israel for its relief efforts.

Haiti in Devastation!

More set backs. **sigh**

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti – The strongest earthquake in more than 200 years rocked Haiti on Tuesday, collapsing a hospital where people screamed for help and heavily damaging the National Palace, U.N. peacekeeper headquarters and other buildings. U.S. officials reported bodies in the streets and an aid official described "total disaster and chaos." more here.

Most of my mother's family are in Cap Haitien which is far far away from the earthquake zone. My father's side are in Port au Prince. Waiting for news...

The Subject Has Been broached

.
I have begun the difficult topic of the history of Haiti. I figured it was going to be more difficult than it actually was. Certainly I had to leave off some parts: the goriness of the whole slave trade, the tortures the Black Africans from Haiti went through (like being buried alive up to their heads in the dirt and having sugar poured onto their heads to attract bugs and what have you)...

There were even some other (more major) parts I had to leave out for now such as the ceremony for freedom in which the slaves all drank pig's blood as a sign of their fearlessness. I could hear it now "but Mama, pigs are not kosher!"

Any way for now I just told them a generalized story and will revisit the topic when they are a bit older.

Saving the World, Saving Haiti

.
I was meandering around in the blogosphere and decided to check out Divalocity. Oh man did I get hit with a brick. One of her post, "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" had a picture of a 5 year old Haitian boy being weighed by a doctor.

The boy was emaciated.

That pictured bothered me all day. What am I doing towards helping those who could use some help?
