Also, I took a quick trip to Daniel Pipes website and saw a post about whether Obama was an ex-muslim or not, despite the Americans absorbed in their own thoughts, what do the actual Muslims from Muslim countries think, and is it a concern for the USA.
(One of the points is makes is that an analyst, Shireen Burki, fears that having an ex-Muslim (being ex Muslim is a big no-no in Islam) could inflame terrorists even more at America. I don't know about that. Just don't know.

Miriam, I don't think terrorist could be more inflamed than they are already, and this should not be a reason for not supporting Obama.
I'm not so much concerned with Islamic terrorists killing him, so much as I am with the good ol' red white and blue, Christian terrorists killing him.
I think that that is the source of any potential threat against him.
I am a sentinel. Some where on my blog, I'm sure, I've discussed this--how it came to be, and what it is I do.
As a sentinel, I'm called on to pray for another, at any time, any place, and any hour.
Although I'm asked to pray for many, Obama's name comes up daily--sometimes all day.
As to socialism, and communism--the world operates without a full understanding of itself.
With a fuller understanding, it would realize that we all, regardless of our individual failings, or successes, have a vested interest in the other.
We all contribute to Life, even the least among us--whether we're stupid, cruel, lazy, inept, sloven, industrious, kind, smart, intelligent, thoughtful, or what have you.
This is not some mystical statement meant to add some credence to an otherwise over-the-top assertion.
God is Life, and to support Life, all Life, is to support God.
Hence, the everyman for himself philosophy loses some of it's gloss when understood in that light.
Further, We're All One, despite appearances to the contrary. What we do to, or for, one another, we do to, and for, ourself.
We're here for a purpose, and that purpose benefits the whole. No one, in the scheme of things, is superfluous.
Dannion Brinkley, the man who died several times, and came back to tell us about it, sums it up this way and I paraphrase:
He was told--
All those that come to earth are powerful spiritual beings--All are heroes and heroines, because they are willing to do what no other spiritual beings are willing to do--come to earth and co-create with God.
We All contribute, even when it seems that we don't.
Therefore, regardless of a person's station in life, or inclinations for self-preservation, we should guarantee each the basics of life: food, clothing, shelter, and healthcare.
To do less, is not in our Self interest.

I strongly agree with you there, I don't think the terrorist would be any more inflamed. They may use this as a pretext, but the plan was already there no matter who was prez.
And yes, I am worried about someone attempting an assasination (God forbid). They are already spewing vile, threatening words at GOP rallies.

You bring an interesting point! Perhaps with this whole collapsing of money machines, etc. I wonder if people will be forced to realized how much they need each other and begin to really have a true community of family groups with families helping families.
Until will shed this "dog eat dog" mentality, real truthful caring living can't happen. And I fear it only takes one "dog eating dog" to set everyone else into a state of fear and distrust and then the whole community collapses again.
