This, and other such human tragedies, sadden me, too.
It is a tragedy of a sort, when two people vow to be with the other, only to drift apart for whatever reasons.
I've read that she's paying her soon to be ex-husband more than a $100 million dollars as a divorce settlement.
Despite her celebrity status, she's still a human being, and a mother.
When I say that these things have nothing to do with me, I remember John Donne's lines, which say in part: "No man is an island unto himself. We are all part of the main."
Yes, also, somethings seem to effect me more than others. Like hearing sad news about Madonna would effect me more than if I heard sad news about some other person.
Wouldn't it be cool, if we could map out the geography of a person's heart depending on the intensity of what effects it.

You come up with the most interesting ideas! I think I'll give it a try.
Let's see: I could rate events on a scale, say, 1 thru 10. One for those things that impact me just a little, and ten for to those things that impact me a lot.
I could then chart my emotions based on the intensity of my reactions.
It might make for an interesting picture of the kind of things I hold dear, and the kind of things that are important, but not overly so.
It might reveal some new insight into my soul. Who knows?
I'd say for you that Madonna's divorce registers a 10 on your emotional Richter scale.
I'd have to agree. Though I still can't understand why, I was so so sad for Madonna.
I think partly because I knew she was learning at kabbalah centers and was trying to do good, etc. Also, her music (to me, at least) showed that she had depth, plus all the suffering she went through while young...I guess because of all that, I wanted good for her.
then again, who knows, maybe the divorce was good...

Hi Domino,
I'd have to agree. Though I still can't understand why, I was so so sad for Madonna.

Hello there!
I didn't know Madonna was getting a divorce...
It would sadden me if Oprah were getting engaged to Stedman...
