Blessing of the Sun
. Every 28 years, there comes a rare blessing, the blessing of the sun. I need to read up on it. The LAST thing I want to for a rare instance to come up and I have all the wrong devotions and have to wait another 28 years to get it right.

That's funny!
Some comets only come around after so many years, and much time passes, as well, between total eclipses of the moon, and sun.
You don't want to miss out on any of them either: reruns can take a long time coming.
"The blessing of the sun."
Fascinating concept, Miriam. I'm not acquainted with it. It has the ring of an American Indian religious ceremony rather than a Jewish one.
Hi Domino,
There are alot of similarities with some native American Indian tradition. Even the belief that everything has a soul -a rock, a grain of wheat, etc.
Here are more similarities with Cherokee and Jewishness.
Knock me over with a feather!
I knew that American Indians were thought to be the Lost Tribes of Israel, but I never believed the story had any validity.
The Book of Mormon makes such a claim, tying American Indians to the Israelites.
Thanks for the link, Miriam. It was a fascinating read. I think I'll do some more digging in this area.
