(H/t: Shirat Devorah)
One thing about Tsfat, I don't hear the shofars every morning like I used to in Jerusalem...
I'm buying a shofar and making my own calling.

Sweet kids story:
The kids are starting to write and they enjoy writing me little letters. Missy Blackfirewhitefire wrote a really cute one saying, "you are a nays (nice) mama". I told her I'd read it at night when nobody is around and get joy from it.
She quipped, "What if I show you this letter whenever you are upset with me? Will you get happy?"
I laughed and told her yes. Its like when the Jewish people were at Mount Sinai, they were willing to receive the Torah. They said, "we will do, and (then) we will hear!" this was to show how much they believed. They'd do whatever they had to do and understand it later. THen they blew the shofar. Nowadays, whenever we get to the day of judgement, Rosh HaShana, we blow the shofar. Sort of like reminding God of that cute "letter" that we wrote Him during they day when He could possibly be upset with us!
(This lesson was from the Lubavitcher Rebbe).

Miriam, you got a smart young lady there.
Take note: She's gonna get smarter. :)
I pray I guide her to use her smartness for good.
That is really funny...
