One of the worse things for me about getting a blood test, is when the test taker puts the needle in my arm, then proceeds to twist it around "looking" for my vein!!! I mean, my insides is not just one big pool of blood, she could be tearing something in there, no??!!
SMH. Just had to vent.

I hate it when they do that. I had to take a blood test 2 weeks ago and I swear if there's another way they could use to draw my blood they should. Do you know they stuck me 12 times and still couldnt get any blood out...
I have the tiniest veins and they collapse whenevr I have to draw blood. My veins were pissed and my arms were swollen and I looked like I shoot drugs or some crap like that. So anyway, after 3 hours of not being able to draw blood and 12 sticks later, they told me to go home and go back in 3 days... Arrrrgggghhhhh. Ok sorry I too had to vent.

Soila -I mean, where do these people get trained? At a torture chamber? I also have teeny tiny veins and they have to use a "butterfly?" needle (kid's needle). *sigh*
Please if anyone has a better way, let us know. lol

The use buttefly needles on me too but nothing works. I have never had blood drawn on the first 5 sticks. I dont even bother expecting them to... I only start getting frustrated when they get to 10 sticks and they haven't succeeded in drawing it... Worst thing is, they are not suppossed to stick you more than 3 times...
I just let them keep going however many times with tears rolling down my eyes coz I hate needles so bad but my veins get mad and collapse

The worst part is when they move the needle around under my skin "looking for the vein". That is so painful but no one seems to care. I hate drawing blood.

I secretly think that they get frustrated and hope to make a "wound" inside and just draw blood from that internal wound -rather than finding a "good" vein.

LOL. I dont think they can get any blood from a wound in there. All they'd get is air... I watch them pull air out of me all the time... Sometimes I think "Instead of hurting me so much with needles, why dont you just make an incission and have me drain the blood in a bucket or something?"

Why not. Its a good tension releaser. My arms are still sore from this morning. both my arms. *sigh*
I guess I am lucky in away. My veins are very visible on the surface. They dont have to search. They just put the needle in there and start draining.
