Why are Jews who are Black and Hebrew Israelites always lumped together?
How come whenever there is an article about Black Jews, a Hebrew Israelite always got something to say?
Could there be financial, social or other reasons why Black Jews must distinguish themselves from Heb. Isrealites?

It must be really important to keep certain groups as "needy" group. Then monies will have to be raised for whatever organization claims they are helping this needy bunch. After a while, this needy bunch will hopefully realize they are being used as bait.
Too much negativity going on w/me. taking a 24 hr break. (unless breaking news sends me back here).

You're just as much a part of the problem as anyone by acknowledging the difference between "Black Jews" and "Hebrew Israelites." Jews are one people of one faith without regard for language, ethnicity, or nationality.
Your blog caters to a sub-group of Jews instead of ALL Jews, which is anathema to the teachings of the Torah. So, as I said, you're no better than those you criticize.

Oh Maimonides, you got me all wrong!
lol. just kidding.
What's wrong with catering to one group? I don't see anything wrong with that. Just as Ashkenazi Jews create beautiful siddurim with pictures of little Ashkenazi children praying and doing all sorts of cute things, nobody complains about them.
I'm willing to bet you certainly don't find anything wrong with that.
Why shouldn't Black Jews have a space to think and talk and be as well?
Its not like i'm bashing white Jews, Just focusing on Black Jews.
And Black Jews and Hebrew Isrealites are not the same. They have different end games, different life styles, outlook, etc. However, many news articles lumps them all together. Not to say one is wrong and the other is right.
If you can understand what I mean, its like lumping Puerto Ricans and Mexicans all into one lump. For the most part its fine, but really, its not true or right.
Also, this is not a "problem." well, not yet anyway. I'm posing questions. Is there a reason why we should be separated or not? Are Black Jews -who are much more quiet than the Hebrew Israelite- lose out from this togetherness?
So tell me about yourself, Neil...
Shalom Miriam,
I meant to comment when I saw your post, but am just getting around to it.I don't know who this Neil is,but Jews of African origin and Hebrew Israelites are two different entities and should not be lumped together.
In fact Hebrews refer to themselves as such and do not regard themselves as Jews, except those who have chosen to use it to their own advantage. And of course anytime the topic of Black Jews comes up Hebrews are quick to jump on it to promote their own agenda.
Equating Hebrews and Black Jews is like equating The Nation of Islam to Muslims who happen to be Black. They are not one and the same. One is a made up religion based on Islam and in that respect are closer to Hebrews than Hebrews are to regular Jews.
Many Jews belong to "sub-groups".There are Ashkenazim and Sephardim,Yeminite, and Edot HaMizrach. There are Chassidim and secular Jews from all over the world. What they have in common is that they identify as Jews.
Hebrews are not a sub group. They are their own religion and Black Jews should make it clear in whose yard they belong, and in whose yard they do not belong.
