Miriam, You know we laugh at this foolishness and shake our heads and even wonder if it's serious,but it really is just a modern day version of The protocols of the Elders of Zion.
After 9/11,I was talking to an American lady married to a Libyan,and she said that her husband claimed that the perpetrators of the attack were the Israeli's.I didn't even speak to his opinion and asked her if SHE believed that and she said no.
Maybe it's good that they think we are all powerful.I'm afraid that they monitor us,like we monitor them and feel it's just a matter of time before we blow ourselves apart with all the divisions.All they have to do is wait and stir the pot from time to time.

There is a path we need to take but no one wants to take that initiative. An attempt at unity with clear site of what may go wrong if we don't. Everyone just stays in their bubbles of self righteousness. I'm not sure how to pop it.

Jews, like Blacks, talk a great deal about unity,but in reality there is very little.Except when there is an out and out attack at the heart of the nation,do we understand it's like Hitler.
Hitler didn't care if a Jew only had one Jewish grandmother or grandfather.Hitler didn't care if the Jew had become a Christian,or was a Chassid or secular.All Hitler saw was Jew and they all had to be exterminated.
I do go out sometimes and I was talking to Leah in her bead store the other day about the discussions on MaNishtana's site where several of us joc's spoke of how we react to the Merry Christmas situation,and she could not understand what the problem was.
Here she is a Jew from Lithuania,and all she could understand is that if someone says Merry Christmas to you,you should say it in return.I had to point out to her that it probably wouldn't happen to her in a kosher bakery and since she wasn't Black,she was missing the point.
I refer to her because she is my secular measuring stick.She has the very Jewish-liberal mentality of "Let's all get along",and when I tried to tell her how a lot of Blacks in America are wary of whites,in general,and that I'd known Jews who were wary of goyim,she couldn't accept that Jews would be like that.Then she said maybe some of the old ones,but she didn't believe it.
I look at her as an average secular Israeli.Her daughter is very anti religious,but I will say she's one of those who think all religions brainwash,so she's not just against Orthodox Jews.This is the state of our people and we definatly need some unity.I just hope it doesn't take Iran or Hizboullah to get us together!
I remember hearing that somehow its the women who will bring the geula.
Just like in the when Amram suggested spouses must separate in order not to reproduce only to have their babies killed by the Egyptian, Miriam suggested-and tightly so- that they should continue to reproduce to give birth to Moses; also in the times of the miraglim/spies who brought a bad a "bad report" of the land -and the women didn't buy it then; so too, for the future geula, I heard that it will come through the women...but how?
