Memories...A few of my favorite things..

.
.
.

Not sure why I'm remembering this, but I remember when I used to live in Chicago. I had my own condo and a car and I loved PRETTY! Very often, I would buy lots of various bottles of soaps of different frangrance, lotions, potions, perfumes, hair stuff, just good smelling things to fill my bathroom. I even started buying candles and incense for the living room.

Some of my favorite products were Ocean Breeze soaps, Dove, neutrogena, anything that sounds like it'll wash over me and make me smile.

I also loved curtains and blinds and big windows. Sunshine, big amounts, was very important wherever I lived. I just made myself happy. The funny thing was, all this was occurring after I had left a very abusive place.

I was still in the process of retraining myself to look at people, not at their shoes, but at least some part of their faces. LOL

But there was an inner joy that could not stop radiating and that manifested itself in the way I kept my home.

I wanted big bouncey beds. Fat pillows, lots of them. Never mind that I don't sleep with not one pillow! And I also enjoyed cooking with various spices. Meat -any meat- was my favorite dish!

Its deep in my heart, probably deep in everyone's heart to be happy. To do things, little nothings, I suppose just to tickle themselves.

Let's indulge again, shall we?

Miriam,

Hi! I didn't know that you previously lived in Chicago. What area of the city was your condo located in? Your post is very interesting. I like visiting your blog because you always give me something to ponder about. Great post once again!

Tracy - you said it!

Chelb - I lived on Palmer St. and Kedzie St. in Palmer Square neighborhood. But I grew up in Bucktown.

Are you from Chicago too?
