It sure beats the weekly presidential radio broadcasts that I always seem to miss.
Obama, for sure, will use the new technology to keep Americans informed. He's the man for the times.
The economic problem here is so serious that Obama's forced to form his cabinet early, in hopes of hitting the ground running after his inauguration.
There's no time to waste.
This country has no savings. Our debt hovers around 10 trillion dollars without the prospect of borrowing further from China or the Middle East.
The Middle East has seen its one export plummet in recent weeks. The price of a gallon of gas here in my burg is below two dollars. It's hasn't been that low in a blue moon, and is likely to go lower.
The demand isn't there for gasoline in this softening economy, driving the price ever lower, despite OPEC'S efforts to reduce production.
And China is struggling with a recession of its own. Here's what one writer has observed:
Since September, over 70,000 factories have closed in China. And they have virtually no net. It's like the America of the thirties. When your job ends, you wind up on the street destitute.
So America can't look to the Middle East, nor to China as a source from which to borrow money.
And there's nobody else. And, the only way to get the economy growing again is as Obama alluded to in his President-elect You Tube presentation--build, and repair the nation's infrastructure.
It's certainly long over due.
The only problem: no money. The nation doesn't have a surplus, as it did during the first depression.
The alternative: print it. And that always carry with it a multitude of other problems, but it may be the only solution.
I've added a new blog entry to my blog, The Secret Place. I was a little apprehensive about sharing all that I did. I don't wish to scare anyone off. But then I don't get that many readers anyway.
Domino - I checked out your post. I wouldn't worry about readership. The best time to reveal deep spiritual things is when there is so much noise going on, that only those who are meant to hear it will hear it.
Hi Miriam! Just found my way to the first of your blogs. Wow! You live in Israel! I'll have to return a little later to read more of your stuff.
Intriguing what you said here: "The best time to reveal deep spiritual things is when there is so much noise going on, that only those who are meant to hear it will hear it."

That's a familiar philosophy... Buddhist?
I gotta say I like these way better than the radio ones.
Kit,
I don't know where my comment went but here goes again:
That saying is actually a Jewish one, but it could possibly overlap with Bhuddist.
Isn't it cool? He is really having to be on his grind right now. It's unprecedented.
