In response to this Quotable Quote, let me quote another quotable messenger, Neale Walsch:

On this day of your life, dear friend, I believe God wants you to know...

...that every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

John Ruskin said that, and he was right. Life is not about our physical or material possessions, it is about the agenda of our soul.

When material possessions serve that agenda, they can be wonderful and are to be celebrated. But if they come between us and the soul, then we may very well be delayed on our holy journey.

Our journey is the path back to peace, to harmony, to deep inner joy, to love, and to God.

Love, Your Friend....

Domino - I was fed up with my house and was pushing myself to throw some stuff out and then I read your Neale Walsch quote.

Spot on! So true!

Before we know it we have a mammoth of clothing, stuff, pieces of stuff that have no purpose except seemingly creating a low level of static /stress/ noise in the subconscious part of my mind.

Well, I'm throwing it out.

"When material possessions serve that agenda, they can be wonderful and are to be celebrated. But if they come between us and the soul, then we may very well be delayed on our holy journey."

Again, very true.

*warm smiles*

The whole purpose of saying a blessing when we eat, or saying a blessing just before a good deed is to elevate the material that is being used in that endeavor. Like a constant reminder that the material is to serve the soul. The horse is to serve the rider (gulp! maybe that wasn't a good analogy. PETA may come after me. lol)

Now, if I can just keep what you've said here uppermost in mind to steer my daily activities.

I, too, need to dejunk my material and spiritual house.

It's a challenge regardless of the house in disarray--material are spiritual.

Miriam, I'm going to try to follow suit and join you in saying:

Well, I'm throwing it out.
